Update 2018/10/29: The vote showed that there is a demand for extra F# Advent slots, so I am going to follow suggestion from Reed Copsey and add new slots in portions. We will start from slot for [Dec 18 – Dec 24] week, and when they are filled I will add slots for [Dec 11 – Dec 17], then for [Dec 2 – Dec 10] and finally [Dec 25-Dec 31].

The F# TypeProvider SDK now has a template for creating a basic type provider and packaging it for all F# tooling including .NET SDK.
Visual Studio 2017 version 15.8.5
- Compiling non-.NET SDK style F# projects results in an internal MSBuild error unless MSBuild parallelism is set to 1.
- F# is not NGEN’d in Visual Studio.
- F# deploys the FSharp.Core 4.5.0.0 binary in the 4.4.3.0 location.

dotnet new typeprovider -n EverythingProvider -lang F#

Then you can happily provide everything to your fellow F# programmers.

Sorry but we messed up. We tried to make .NET Framework 4.6.1 retroactively implement .NET Standard 2.0. This was a mistake as we don't have a time machine and there is a tail of bugs.

If you want to consume .NET Standard 1.5+ from .NET Framework, I recommend to be on 4.7.2. https://t.co/E7H2Ps9cLk
